About the 2020 Team

A New Adventure!

The Trinity Romanian missions team for 2020 will be traveling in the summer this year.  We have an excited team. We have four veterans and three first timers making up this years team. We hope you are ready to meet everyone . . . 

Sarah Heffington

Hello, I'm Sarah, though I feel like a bio for me is redundancy itself. This will be my seventh trip to Romania and I'm particularly excited to be involved in a new way this year! Our team will be helping this year at Bethel Church's annual youth summer camp. This will be such a wonderful focused environment for us to connect and share with each other. Each year the Lord blesses our team as we seek to serve Him. His faithfulness is evident in the ways he works through our relationships with our Romanian brothers and sisters. Thanks for following along!

Hannah Powell

Hi! My name is Hannah. I am twenty years old and from a tiny town in Virginia. I am currently in my first year at Liberty University, where I am majoring in Nursing with Global Studies. If I am not studying then I love to read, explore outside, or drink coffee, which I consider to be a serious hobby. This will be my first time on the Trinity Romanian Missions Team. However, I have known for a long time that I am called to missions. I cannot wait to meet the wonderful Romanian people! I look forward to what God is going to do during this trip!

Jathan Buczek

My name is Jathan and I am working as a carpenter in the state of Virginia. I've been a part of this team twice before and feel a strong calling to return. The connections that we have made and the encouragement that I received while on my previous two trips were an incredible blessing. Lord willing, this will become an annual trip for me.

Elizabeth Cheek

Hello, my name is Elizabeth and I am twenty years old. I currently work on my family's farm in the state of North Carolina. I enjoy photography, singing, working with children, and serving in my church. I am very thankful to be able to be a part of this years Romania Missions Team for the first time. I can't wait to see what God has in store for this trip and how He is going to use it to work in and through me.

Casey Elkins

Hello I'm Casey and I am very excited to be  traveling along with this team for the second time. I am an office administrator for Grace Baptist Church in Stuart, VA. I am also an artist. It was such a blessing to be part of the team last year and I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to return again this summer. I look forward to worshiping with old friends and meeting new ones. I look forward to the opportunity to share His love with everyone I meet and to grow closer to Him in the process. I greatly appreciate your prayers and support for each of us! 

Brenda Lohr

Hi, I am Brenda and this will be my first missions trip ever! Needless to say I am very excited to be a part of this team. I am a former high school teacher turned seamstress. I enjoy reading and working outdoors and I love learning new things. I trust that God has good things in store for us on this adventure!

Daphne Edmonston

This will be my eighth year leading a team to Romania. It is hard to express what a wonderful, encouraging, challenging, and enriching experience it has been. Seeing Christianity through the eyes of another culture is convicting and inspiring. I can't wait to see all our friends again soon!
