Wholeheartedly Excited About This Trip!

Trinity Mennonite Church Romania Missions Trip 2014
Amy Edmonston
As the prospect of adventure approaches there is a natural mixture of excitement and fear.  Obviously, I am very excited to be going back to a country that I have such wonderful memories of.  A year ago I was blessed and challenged in ways I never imagined by my time in Romania.

In anticipating this return trip, however, there is a certain amount of fear.  How can this years trip possibly live up t last year's experience?  but that is where the problem lies; it won't. The two weeks that we will be in Romania will be entirely different from anything I can remember or can anticipate.

God has obviously brought this team together and led us to make this commitment.  when I look at that, I can put aside any naggings I may have and say I am wholeheartedly excited about this trip.  I know it will result in furthering my trust and sense of wonder in the God I strive to serve.

Embarking On This Journey With Us!

Trinity Mennonite Missions Romania Team 2014
Stephanie Eubank
I can echo Sarah and say that I am so excited about our trip to Romania!  I have not been to Romania before, and I can't wait to begin the adventure!  God has already provided my needed funds for the trip, and I'm so thankful to "fellow workers of the truth" who have given so generously.  God is faithful to provide!

I pray that God would prepare our team to encourage our brothers and sisters in Romania and that God would work in us as well as through us.

Thank you all for your prayers!  You are embarking on this journey with us through your prayers and support.

My Hope and Prayer

Trinity Mennonite Missions Romania Team 2014
David Edmonston
I'm getting excited about this trip to Romania.  I haven't spent any significant time in another country since 1982, so this trip almost feels like a brand new experience for me!  I'm looking forward to seeing the sights and the countryside.  Also, everyone who goes on a missions trip comes back talking about how much they were blessed.  Of course, I hope that happens.

But what I really am excited about is meeting and talking with the Romanian people.  My biggest hope and prayer is that by sharing God's word and how He has worked in our lives, the team will be an encouragement and blessing to the people of Romania.

Fully Funded!

Trinity Mennonite Missions Romania Team 2014
Romanian Flag
Thanks to the generous gifts of many people and the great help we have received at various fundraisers the Romania Missions Trip 2014 is fully funded!  We are very excited to be able to focus completely on the mission itself.  Our team will depart from Washington Dulles International Airport in exactly four weeks!

We aren't sure what our exact itinerary is yet, but we do know we will be doing a lot of traveling.  In light of this, we would appreciate your prayers for safety in travel throughout our trip and that the vehicles will function properly.

Thanks again to all of you who have been praying and who have generously contributed to this trip!

Romania

Romania.  A word that fills me with excitement but also a bit of apprehension.  Excitement, as this will be my first international missions trip, and my first time out of the country.  I will be with good friends and will also get to make some new friends as well.

However, there is also a tiny bit of apprehension, fear, worry.  I've never been outside the country before and I don't speak Romanian (thought I am trying to learn a little).  There are so many details and "what if's".

Yet the LORD lovingly reminds me that He has the master plan and that all the details are under His control.  I can't wait to see all that God has in store for our team and all those we will meet there in Romania!

Soul-Friends

Trinity Mennonite Missions Romania Team 2014
Rachel Heffington
I am a people-person, and one of the greatest things I took away from the Romanian missions trip last year was the beauty of the global body of Christ.  The fact that my soul could connect with another soul over a mutual love for Jesus, even across language barriers, was fascinating.  I am looking forward to returning to Romania this year and seeing all the soul-friends I left behind, and meeting new brothers and sisters in Christ.  The times of fellowship were satisfying and rejuvenating in ways hard to explain to people who have never been blessed with the multicultural experience of churches meeting from opposite sides of the world.  I cannot wait for round two!
