Transfăgărășan

Here are a few pictures from our trip on the  Transfăgărășan    (a wonderful winding alpine mountain road).  We couldn’t go all the way to the top because the road was blocked by an isolated snow slide about 100 kilometers from the top.  As you will see, we managed to have a lot of fun anyway!!!

Many thanks to our wonderful hosts (Pastor Cristian and Alina Zaharia and Pastor John Zaharia)!

We stopped at this little alpine stream and decided to take a little hike.

Here is a good idea of the switchbacks on this road we are in the car looking up at the next bridge.  Beauty all around.

Here is the little avalanche that prevented us from driving further!  But it led to lots of fun and adventure!

Our hosts were gracious enough to stop and let us play.  We ran down to explore the wildflowers and river in the fog.  We were also fortunate to find this “bridge” to help us to cross the river.
